“Cestino” is a contemporary work of art from 1999 , belonging to the series of works dedicated to the concept of creation .
Created on ancient wooden boards , the work features a material composition enriched by sculptural elements in paper pulp and hemp fibre , iron powder, quartz and oil painting interventions.
The composition interprets the structure of a mandala in a symbolic and evocative form, obtained through the paper pulp mold of a basket. A simple, everyday object is thus transformed into an archetypal form, evocative of the feminine, of care and the daily gesture of containing and protecting .
At the center of the mandala is a rock crystal , a luminous and symbolic element that introduces a point of energy and light into the composition. The basket, from an everyday object, thus becomes a representation of creation as a generative act , in which matter, femininity, and light meet.
The work measures 85 × 85 cm and is framed without glass , keeping the particular material quality of the surface visible and enhancing it.
Technique: Sculptural elements in paper pulp and hemp fiber, iron powder, quartz, and oil paint on antique wooden panels. Year: 1999. Dimensions: 85 × 85 cm.
The work is a unique piece and is delivered with a certificate of authenticity .
